Community Way Finding

Admiralty Village - Portsmouth Ship Yard

Kittery, Maine

GDHA provided architectural design, construction documents, bidding, and construction administration services to Northeast Housing LLC (Partnership between Balfour Beatty Communities LLC and the USNavy) for this Community Way Finding project.

Seven cul-de-sac streets in this existing military residential community connect to Philbrick Street and each of these streets had existing small light poles at the entrance to the residential cul-de-sac that were in poor condition and needed renovation.  The client directed that the existing red brick support base plus concrete cap, the light poles and light fixtures were to remain but the balance of the structures were to be removed and replaced.

We introduced a new contemporary community image using typical New England wood shingles mixed with decorative shingles with contrasting opaque and transparent stains.

Project was sucessfully completed.
